New Kuoro Speaker

Hi Alan,
Great news the Kuoro! Congratulations again. Is it smaller in size than the Ukkonen?
It will be very interesting to have the feedback, because for me it’s hard to get over the SB Satori… béryllium so smooth and precise. The purifi is made of what?

Looking forward to seeing the measurements :)

Any chance you will attend Melbourne this year?
Hi

I'm afraid not. Firstly we feel that there is only room for one Australian show per year. Secondly, we have out-grown the Melbourne show. We need a larger room and none are/will available going forward. So with better facilities and support, we have decided to concentrate on Sydney show.

Yes it is smaller. The tweeter is aluminium.

That is a shame, but understandable, in regards to the rooms. I did enjoy the Sydney show when attending in '23. Even the smaller rooms there seemed more 'friendly' for exhibitors.

Anyway, look forward to at least reading some feedback people give you in regards to the new Kuoro. They look the goods :)

Crazy that Purifi managed again an aluminium tweeter with the possibility to tickle the ear of Alan… impressive to make such a good work by all. Amplifier modules, speakers with this last tweeter…. all engineers in hi-fi technical staff tell me the same thing about Purifi. They blow up everything. It must be very satisfying for you to work with his pieces. And which your smart work around this pieces to obtain such results. Customer more than satisfied…
Apparentl’y the ribbon tweeter is not suitable because of distortions at high frequencies.

Hi Alan,
I heard the Kuoro through your video from the show. Sounds great. In bass you reached the same impression of big clean sound as on the Ukkonen. Difficult to juge the trebles with the video. I suppose clean of course. On the video it is possible to compare the size Ukkonen Kuoro.
Nice speakers the Kuoros also for a smaller room!
Impatient to hear from the price and your feedback for the tweeter PTT or SB choice.
Good impacts with the P801. Clean.

Why don’t leaving the choice to the costumer by the way? Alu or Beryllium. With a possibility of simply upgrading later.

I suppose the question is "what is an upgrade"? Which is better, the SB Acoustics or the Purifi tweeter? 😀

We had very informative and interesting reactions from listeners at the show.

I can't really go into detail at the moment, sorry.

Gauder Akustik in Germany a great speaker manufacturer, I suppose you know by reputation, I heard the astonishing Capello series with a very good sound, offers the possibility to upgrade from alu to beryllium for the tweeter. The upgrade from alu to beryllium costs 5000€! For both tweeters…. Have a look on their website.

The difference between alu and beryllium is the distortion at higher levels. With your Ukkonen I can turn louder with no harshness. This is what I heard on the GA Capello speakers alu vs beryllium also. The sound is precise and smooth.

Yes what is an upgrade is a part of my question.
For me the precise fine sound without harshness on the listenable frequencies the rest going up to 40 kHz is only possible with beryllium. If purifi managed that with alu…perhaps because they managed so many things… I’m looking forward to your choices when you will be able to write about it and give the impressions of the listeners.

There’s a mixe up between your Kuoro red and Akkunen blue speakers on these videos. Certainly, because this guy saw your red Akkunen on videos before.

I told the guy.

I would caution everyone from drawing any conclusions about sound quality from recordings made in this way.

They are simply nothing like the real sound. Microphones do not "hear" in the same way as two ears and a brain. The mics pick up all the room reflections and sound whereas your brain will filter much of this. This is especially the case with omni microphones as appear to have been used here.

Ever experienced the cocktail party effect? Its a really noisy room, music and conversations, yet you can focus on one person's voice and hear what they are saying. If you tried this with a microphone you would really struggle to hear the conversation.

Hence these recordings sound terrible. Yes the speaker names are mixed up.
