P262 Bi-Ampig vs P422 singel

Hi Alan,
with my old configuration (Anthem av + 2 Arcam AVR 600 as Amps 120W/8Ohm) my DIY Speakers will become a hugh push in driving them in Bi-Amp mode.
We have already tested a NAD M27 from a friend of mine. The difference in Cinema configuration was awesome. In stereo we prefer the arcam and missed a bit the natural flow...however, I need more dynamic in Cinema in my classic 5.2 Setup. actually i drive LCR in bi-amping, therefore i need 8ch.
Or do you think I should better go with P422 singel amping. The Surround didn't need that much power. It's also a question of money;)

Best regards
Holger

Hi @Holger

My view is that bi-amping is only of very small benefit unless you take it to its logical conclusion where you remove the passive crossovers and perform the XO in DSP.

So yes, I would use the P422 single amping with a P421 for the centre. Run the surrounds from the AVR internal amps as they are mostly ambience and effects. Its the front 3 channels that are the important ones.

cheers

Alan
