Is there a pre-amplifier(control) on the horizon?

Hi @frank7036 Yes it's in the pipeline and will have mm/mc phono inputs. Hoping for end of year.

    Balanced Interconnects without a screen

Hi @Michael There is of course the possibility that something unrelated to the cable screening is causing the difference you are hearing. It's not possible to comment further without examining and measuring the system. I will make and post some recordings using a screened and non screened...

    Balanced Interconnects without a screen

Well yes, Im not going to argue with you if you are confident you can hear a positive difference. However there are a number of thing that need to be considered. Firstly, its conceivable that the additional noise pick up you will now be suffering in your system is causing a spray of spurious...

    Balanced Interconnects without a screen

Hi @Michael I just took some measurements to show the impact of not screening an audio cable. I set-up an RME ADI2 DAC / ADC in loopback so it is measuring its own output. I set a test signal at 1kHz at -60dB Full scale. I laid the cable on top of a source of interference, a switch mode...

    P422 AVR/Music system

Hi @DNX We have a lot of customers upgrade their AVR systems with our power amps. Yes the P422 will work just fine with the AVRs you mention using an RCA to XLR cable. Obviously the 7706 has xlr outputs. The P422 will drive the Polks no problem at all. 😀 Hope that helps Alan

    Balanced Interconnects without a screen

Hi @Michael Eddy currents won't be an issue in a twisted pair balanced cable. By removing the screen you have now exposed the signal conductors to a higher level of electromagnetic and electrostatic noise. It's not just the cable that cancels the interference. This is also a function of the...

    P264

Hi @mboddy At the moment we are not planning any multichannel power amps. Demand for this specific product would be very low. Alan

    Balanced Interconnects without a screen

Hi @Michael I'm afraid this is a bad idea. I will try and find time over the weekend to provide a detailed technical explanation and some measurements to demonstrate. Alan

Power to my Amps, AV gear and computers

Hi @mboddy Mains power practices and requirements are an interesting topic. Often people think they have a problem when they dont. People sometimes think they need a special "clean earth"", when in reality the real issue is they are using single ended RCA connections which somewhere have the...

    Using Trigger input

Hi @Michael Im really pleased you are enjoying the amp :) Doing as you describe should be absolutely fine. The amp module will not go active until all power supply voltage rails are up and stable, so shouldnt behave any different to coming out of standby using the front panel button. Hope...

    Incompetent Internet Reviewers - Beware!

Oh I think customers are intelligent enough to make their own minds up and see the wood for the trees. When companies like SB Acoustics turn round and say the guy is wrong, and when the guy has already been forced to publicly apologise for his lies about Erin Hardison, and when he makes public...

    Incompetent Internet Reviewers - Beware!

Nuyes doesn't have any relevant skills. He has been proven technically wrong at every juncture. He just has a klippel machine. All the gear an no idea. He is a liar. He tried to spread lies about Erin Hardison, for which he was forced to publicly apologise. He lied about the wiring and the...

    Incompetent Internet Reviewers - Beware!

Absolutely understand that, but Nuyes has come out swinging punches. He has attacked the reputation of Erin Hardison, Purifi, SB Acoustics and of course myself. The only way out for him is to publicly apologise to ALL of these parties for his errors.

    Incompetent Internet Reviewers - Beware!

Part 10 - SB Acoustics Response I have just had a very interesting conversation with an engineer from SB Acoustics. He got in contact with us because someone had contacted him for comment about the alleged air leak in their tweeter. Their engineers have looked into it and have dismissed the...

    Incompetent Internet Reviewers - Beware!

Part 9 - Nuyes Other Lie So apart from lying about the cabling, this reviewer Nuyes also lied about a missing driver mounting nut. At no point we we informed about an allegedly missing nut. Not from the owner, not from Nuyes original data or reports. The claim only appears in Nuyes ASR forum...

    Incompetent Internet Reviewers - Beware!

Part 8 - Slander I mentioned in part 1 that this reviewer, who goes by the name Nuyes on Audio Science review, had cast aspersions on the integrity of another speaker reviewer, Erin Hardison. Erins work is excellent. Honest, accurate and informed reviews of speakers. Check it out along with...
